From 24 to 28 September, the 21st CAEXPO is being held in Nanning, People’s Republic of China. U Yan Naing Tun, the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee chairman, accompanied by committee member Yangon Region Economic Minister U Myo Myint Aung, officials from the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration DICA and UMFCCI attended the event.
In the meeting with Chinese entrepreneurs, they discussed the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, investment,
trading and opportunities for investment in Myanmar and the Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
During the Myanmar (Thanlyin) Promotion Conference on 25 September, the chairman of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee explained to Chinese entrepreneurs the opportunities for investment in the zone and other promising sectors for cooperation.
The committee chairman and party discussed investment-related issues and cooperation between the two countries on 26 September at the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning.
The visit strengthened bilateral relations, cooperation, and investment opportunities. Currently, 21 countries have invested US$2.2 billion in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone, and more foreign and domestic investors are expected to submit proposals.
