According to statistics released by the Central Bank of Myanmar on September 25 (yesterday), the bank issued and sold 12.889 million dollars and 700,000 Chinese Yuan, totalling more than 300 million dollars over the past two months.
After the central bank announced it would allocate $100 million to fuel companies, millions of dollars were sold starting August 15, and from August 1 to September 16, a total of $228 million was sold.
Subsequently, dollars were continuously issued and sold. With this new sale, weekly sales exceeded 75 million dollars, bringing total dollar sales over the two months from August 1 to now to more than 300 million dollars.
The Thai baht and Chinese yuan, essential for exporters and importers, were also issued and sold during this period. Over two months, more than 290 million Thai baht and 23 million Chinese yuan were issued and sold.
On September 24, the foreign market’s dollar price was 5,100 kyats per dollar. On September 25, it was 5,070 kyats. On September 26 (today), it was 5,020 kyats.
