According to reports in Thailand, 267 Myanmar migrant workers who were illegally working at a construction site in Thailand were arrested.
The construction site is located in the village of Nanansun, U Tai Township, Ayutthaya district , and was arrested by the Thai police yesterday morning, September 24.

During the Thai police inspection, 212 Myanmar men workers and 52 women were arrested, who could not show legal residence documents.
According to police questioning, these are those who entered Thailand, Myanmar, Karen State Thailand via Myawady and they came to Mae Sot after paying a brokerage fee of 20,000 baht per person.

Those arrested are said to be working for at least 500 baht a day and some 600 baht as wages in the construction site.

Now, the undocumented Myanmar workers have been sent to the Uthai Township office and will be prosecuted according to Thai law. If the case is completed, he will be repatriated to Myanmar.
