Today at 7:30 in the morning, according to the river gauges, the water level of the Bago River is about 1.5 feet below the alarming water level of Bago City. According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, it may reach the critical water level of Bago City within the next 36 hours.
According to the gauge at 6:30 p.m yesterday, September 23, the Bago River water level reached about 2 feet below the critical water level. DMH announced that it may reach the critical water level within the next 2 days. The Bago River water rose by half a foot in the morning today.
So, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning so that people living near the river and in low-lying areas in Bago Township can be aware in advance and avoid the rising of the river in time.
