The malicious media outlets are spreading the false information on social media, claiming that the security forces released directives to report them regarding the donation of relief items in flood-hit villages of Toungoo Township, Bago Region, and legal action will be taken against those who donate for flood-hit villages with intense conflicts under the Counter-Terrorism Law.

According to a security official of Toungoo, the National Disaster Management Committee released a notice saying the donated food cooked by the well-wishers is kept instead of being consumed instantly due to weather conditions. Such action can grow microbes that can cause food poisoning and spoil. After consuming such food, flood victims have health risks such as vomiting and diarrhoea. Well-wishers are urged to donate through supervisory teams and management teams of relevant townships. Therefore, security force members inspected for security purposes and did not impose any restrictions.

Members of social welfare organizations, Tatmadaw, police force, Red Cross society and fire brigade actively participate in relief measures and rehabilitation processes in flood-battered regions and townships. The malicious media intentionally circulate such fake news to mislead the people about security forces.
