Pagodas, stupas teem with pilgrims, public recreation places pack with visitors in Mandalay on full moon day of Tazaungmone

The pagodas and stupas in Mandalay were crowded with pilgrims as well as the recreations places also packed with visitors on the full moon day of Tazaungmone.

“Donation of kathina robes and offerings hung on tree-shaped stands in the kathina festival is very noble for Buddhists. But, although we go outside, we have to beware of dangers. The religious festivals should not be mixed with political affairs. The huge number of pilgrims and visitors create the income of local people who relied on them,” a pilgrim said.

The devotees paid obeisance to Mahamuni Pagoda, Mandalay Hill Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Sandamuni Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda, Yankin Hill Pagoda, Kyauksein Pagoda (Jade Pagoda)and Swetawmyat Pagoda in Mandalay; and released fishes as a good deed. In addition, the recreation places such as Yadanbon Zoo, U Pein bridge, Manaw Yaman playground and City Park were also teeming with visitors.

“As animal performance shows which paused due to COVID-19 pandemic were resumed and staged in Yadanabon Zoological Garden on Tazaungdaing holiday, there are a large number of visitors,” an official of the zoo said.

On such a holiest occasion, people in Mandalay performed fine traditions of the Myanmar culture such as the celebrating kathina robe offering ceremonies, serving refreshments to those who came from four corners, seeking cash donation for kathina festival by holding entertainment events. So, it can be seen that the lovely and valuable views of people in Mandalay.
