A Myanmar delegation, led by Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn departed Yangon for the People’s Republic of China via China Southern Airlines to attend the 21st China-ASEAN Expo, which will be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from 24 to 28 September.
The delegation was greeted at Yangon International Airport by officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Economic Attaché Mr Ouyang Daobing from the Chinese Embassy.
In addition to the Union minister, the delegation included Minister for Economic Affairs of the Yangon Region Government U Myo Myint Aung, Thilawa Special Economic Zone Chairman U Yan Naing Tun, Director-General of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization Dr Htein Lin , a cultural troupe from the National University of Culture and Arts (Yangon), and various businesspeople participating in the exhibition.
The exhibition aims to foster friendship, development, and trade benefits, promote the development of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0, and enhance the high-quality development of the China-ASEAN region. At the 21st China-ASEAN Expo, Myanmar will showcase 84 booths representing the rice, Arabica coffee, aquatic industry, fruit, tea, spice, woodwork, handicrafts, and gem sectors.
