Half of the population of Myanmar are women, and thus, along with women from all over the world, Myanmar women play a pivotal role in strengthening trust and global cooperation.
She underscored that the world is facing challenges such as climate change, poverty, requirements for healthcare and educational services, technological development, violations of human rights, especially women’s rights, trade conflicts and military conflicts. She further urged that the need for professionalism and efficient management skills of women is getting greater day by day.
She continued to say that as women mostly bear the burden of conflicts, it is essential to include women’s participation in multi-sector cooperation for the successful implementation of mutual understanding and trust, peace, security and development.
She underscored that it is very encouraging to notice the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance’s important mechanism for cooperation among BRICS countries.
She highlighted in her speech that it is the time to recognize and champion not only women’s daily activities but also women’s courage, self-confidence, perseverance, leadership, resilience and creativity in dealing with global issues. Myanmar attaches great importance to the significant role of women in achieving the international goals of the United Nations, she added.
