The Singapore government is reportedly set to assist in transferring humanitarian aid materials to countries in the ASEAN region, including Myanmar, which has been severely affected by the Ragi storm.

After Typhoon Ragi struck the Philippines on September 2, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar have also been impacted.

In the above assistance, the Singaporean Army has provided support, which will help send humanitarian aid to Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam organizations. Two Singapore Air Force C-130 transport aircraft and A330 multipurpose aircraft will load and send aid materials. These items include blankets, boxes containing hygiene products, water filters, collapsible water containers, and food packages.

As clashes between the Myanmar army and armed groups persist, floods triggered by the storm have displaced over 400,000 individuals, according to UNICEF.

UNICEF stated, “Storm Ragi has intensified Myanmar’s need for humanitarian assistance. It has pushed the community into experiencing even greater hardships,” he remarked.
