At least 10 cities, including Nay Pyi Taw, are affected by floods, and residents need help, according to local social aid organizations working on flood relief.Due to heavy rains and rising water levels, floods have occurred in townships within the Nay Pyi Taw council area since today (September 11).
According to a statement from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, there is a lot of rain in the Nay Pyi Taw area and the eastern highlands due to the speed of Ragi storm. It is reported that the water level is rising in the Ngalite River, Sin Thay River and Paung Laung River in Pyinmana Township. Therefore, residents of the low-lying areas and villages along the Ngalait River, Sin Thay River and the Paung Laung River in Pyinmana Township are advised to be aware of the risk of flooding.
