The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) denied spreading rumors of reimplementing the Foreign Exchange Certificate in 2025, which was earlier abolished. This is just false information, and there is no plan to do so.
The Central Bank of Myanmar has issued a clear response to the news about the potential reimplementation of FEC currencies on February 7, 2025. The reported values of 5 kyats, 10 kyats, and 50 kyats for the FEC system are inaccurate and should not be considered official information.
According to news reports, It was falsely written that to be ensure domestic foreign currency self-sufficiency so that dollars entering the country do not reach fraudsters, the value of one dollar will be the same as the newly issued currency and the take effective action against local dollar users and traders.
