A fire broke out in an apartment in Thingangyun

A fire broke out in the kitchen of the right apartment on the third floor of a two-room, four-story building located on Thazin Pang Road, (a) Ward, Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, causing four people to faint and feel dizzy.

The investigators reported that the fire, which erupted around 4:00 p.m. today, was ignited by an unattended soup pot on a wooden stand that overheated and caught fire.

Wooden stand due to fire. In addition to the loss of the red pot and the fiber door, the tenant, a 58-year-old woman, fell into a coma. Furthermore, two 32-year-old men and a 25-year-old man, who initially attempted to extinguish the fire, became intoxicated and were taken to the hospital.

When the female tenant returned from outside, she realized her room was on fire, and in her excitement and fear, she forgot everything else. The other three individuals who helped extinguish the flames also became disoriented from the smoke. “There’s nothing to worry about,” said a firefighter.

Over 20 reserve firefighters, one firefighting plane, and one water carrier extinguished the apartment fire in 6 minutes.

Thuwunna Police Station has opened a case under Section 285 regarding a 58-year-old woman who was a tenant affected by the fire.
