State Administration Council of the Republic of Union of Myanmar held the kathina robes offering ceremony 2022 at Sasana Beikman of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw this morning, attended by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who donated kathina robes and offertories.
Present were 27 Sayadaws led by Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Patron of Bhamo Monastery, Mandalay, Sayadaw Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa, Secretary of SSMNC Patron of Minkyaung Pathamabyan Pariyati School, Thanlyin, Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candimabhivamsa and Ovadacariya Sayadaws of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees. Present together with the Senior General and wife were SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the Secretary and wife, the Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and their wives, Union level officials, Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, senior military officers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and officials.
First, the Senior General paid obeisance to the Buddha Image in the Sasana Beikman and offered meals in the emerald bowl, flowers, water, lights and fruits.
The Senior General and the congregation observed the displayed kathina robes, offertories and offerings hung on tree-shaped stands to be donated to Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery in Thabyaegon ward, Zambuthiri Township.
The congregation led by the Senior General recited Namotassa three times to open the ceremony and received the Five Precepts from Bhamo Sayadaw. Sayadaws recited parittas.
The Senior General and wife presented kathina robes and offertories to Bhamo Sayadaw and Sayadaw Agga Maha Gandavacaka Pandita Bhaddanta Agga Dhamma of Masoeyein Taikthit Monastery.
The Vice-Senior and wife presented kathina robes and offertories to Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw and the Secretary and wife, the Joint Secretary and wife, SAC members and their wives, senior military officers presented kathina robes and offertories to members of the Sangha.
At the ceremony, donations worth Ks-112,965,850 were made. Donations included offertories hung on 44 tree-shaped stands and Ks-73,643,250 in cash.
