At the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024), the RK-Investments fund signed a trilateral memorandum on business and technical cooperation in the agricultural sector with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development of this country.
The key subject of this agreement is the parties’ agreement on joint efforts to implement the project to build a plant for the production of organic foliar plant growth stimulants in Myanmar. In addition, the purpose of the memorandum will be to obtain permission from the Myanmar side to import fertilizers from Russia for a large-scale agricultural experiment, their certification and permission for their use and sale in the republic. In addition, the Myanmar side undertakes to assist in the sale of products from the future enterprise for the production of plant growth stimulants.
According to the director of the RK-Investments fund, Alexander Shatirov, for more than a year and a half, the fund’s specialists in Myanmar have been testing plant growth stimulants, the production of which is planned at the future plant. “The results of the experiments showed a 30-70% increase in yield,” the top manager explained. “The plant for the production of growth stimulants can become a landmark example of a successful investment project between our countries, and the proposed long-term development program in the agricultural sector is a guarantee of long-term cooperation.”
In turn, Myanmar Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Min Naung expressed gratitude to RK Investments for organizing the supply of fertilizers as a new tool for increasing crop yields in the country. “I expect that the use of plant growth stimulants will be able to increase the productivity of agricultural crops, ensure food security and improve the economic situation of farmers in Myanmar,” the head of the department emphasized. “I hope for further strengthening of cooperation in the field of agriculture.”
It should be noted that, according to preliminary estimates, the volumes of products manufactured at the plant will cover up to 14% of Myanmar’s need for such preparations. In addition, the document specifies the intentions of the parties to implement projects to develop technologies for improving soil quality.
The parties also expressed their intention to create a seed production and selection cluster in Myanmar.
It should be added that the honorary guests of the signing ceremony from the Russian side were Advisor to the President of Russia Anton Kobyakov, Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, and from the Myanmar side – Deputy Prime Minister Mya Tun Oo and Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar Min Naung.
