Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Commander-in- Chief (Navy) Vice Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, Unionlevel officials, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, and officials, inspected the activities related to maintaining peace and stability in the Eastern Command area this morning.
First, at the meeting hall of the Eastern Command, Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Min Latt provided a briefing. He discussed the collaboration of military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, and members of the local People’s Militia in maintaining regional security and protecting roads and bridges.
He also reported on the reconstruction efforts in Loikaw and other towns affected by the attacks of KNPP, KNDF groups, and PDF terrorists. The briefing also covered the seizure of weapons and ammunition from PDF terrorists during security operations, the surrender of PDF members, and the seizure of illegal timber.
Regarding the briefings, the Senior General stressed the need to systematically carry out operations to maintain regional peace and stability for the safety and security of the people’s lives and property. He emphasized that in conducting peace and security operations, there should be continuous intelligence gathering to maintain a steady flow of securityrelated information. Measures should be taken to prevent damage to public roads and bridges frequently used by the general public. Similarly, regional development activities should also be implemented. He noted that the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone has been working in coordination with the state and the Tatmadaw to maintain regional peace and stability since achieving peace in the past. He instructed that measures should be taken to prevent instability caused by terrorist activities in their regions. It was also mentioned that the armed insurgent groups, MNDAA, TNLA, and AA, were designated as terrorist organizations by the state on September 2, and those associated with them are considered supporters of terrorism.
He further directed that police and administrative personnel, who interact closely with the public, must ensure that public safety operations provide good public services and are conducted fairly and transparently, without causing any burden to the people. He also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts in security matters to ensure the success of the population census and household enumeration and provided guidance on other necessary measures for maintaining regional peace and stability.
After that, the Senior General and party, accompanied by Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, and Chief Minister of Shan State U Aung Aung, visited the local military hospital in Aungban town. They met with and encouraged officers and soldiers who had been injured while performing national defense and security duties, inquiring warmly about their injuries and recovery conditions on an individual basis.
They also took note of their reports and provided necessary support. Following this, the Senior General and party presented honoraria and gifts to the officers and other ranks currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Afterwards, the Senior General inspected the construction progress of a 400-meter running track and football field within the hospital premises and provided necessary guidance based on the reports from the responsible personnel.
