KNU and PDF are dominant forces, and when the sound of a car is heard after 8:00 p.m., it often experiences attacks near the village of Ka Mar Sai, Thathon Township. A passenger vehicle carrying approximately 13 individuals, including the driver, was reportedly struck by a mine, resulting in the deaths of two men and injuries to five women.
It occurred in Mon State, Thaton Township, near Ka Mar Sai village, where a KNU and PDF team attacked the BGO-11 3Q- —- TOYOTA HIACE passenger vehicle traveling from Thaton to Bilin between the 6th and 7th furlongs of Mile 133 on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway on September 1 at 9:30 p.m. As a result of this mine explosion, 37-year-old U Phyo Wai Kyaw, who was driving the vehicle, and 31-year-old U Kyaw Myo from Min Kyae Village in Thanatpin Township, Bago Region, both succumbed to their injuries and died in the incident. In addition, Daw Khin Than Win (60) and Ma Phyu Sin Min (29) from Kyun Gyi Village in Thanatpin Township, Ma Yin Yin Nwe (31) from Min Village, Daw Cho Mar (52) from Fa Ye Village, and Ma Win Win Htwe (33) from Kyu Chaung Village were also injured when a mine exploded. It is reported that the wounded were taken to Thaton Hospital.
On February 20, 2023, KNU and PDF attacked a cargo Hilux truck near Ka Mar Sai village, killing the driver, Min Tun, and damaging the vehicle. Additionally, on the night of March 27 this year, the PDF’s mine attacked and fired at the A Kyin Nar Twe Lat social assistance vehicle that was leaving Thaton to transport patients to Yangon.
