It is not true that some Thai banks, including Thailand’s Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) and Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) Myanmar, will suspend financial transactions with Myanmar banks. Myanmar’s trading activities are legitimate activities and there is no doubt that banking services are operating normally, the Central Bank of Myanmar has announced.
Some banks, including Thailand’s Kasikorn Bank (K Bank) and Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) Myanmar, are spreading misinformation among Burmese people that they will stop providing financial transactions with Myanmar banks at the end of August 2024.
It has been announced that money transfers from bank accounts and banking services are carried out only through Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes, and that there are no suspicious transactions as there are no suspicious transactions in Myanmar.
