The Myanmar Passport Issuance Office has announced today that the book fee will be changed from 35,000 Kyats to 40,000 Kyats starting from September 1, 2024, for ordinary Myanmar passport applications locally.
At present, passports are processed through the online appointment system in Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Bago and Pathein offices, and in the rest of the branches, through the queue system.
Online booking can be done at www.passport.gov.mm on the Myanmar Passport Issuing Board’s website. It has already been announced that by paying the fee with KBZ-Pay/MPU Card, people can apply by themselves without the need of intermediaries/agents.
