The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced this morning that the Thanlwin River’s water has risen about 2 feet above the critical water level in Hpa-An. The water has entered the low-lying areas near the river, but the situation is not critical yet, so the aid and rescue process has not yet started, said an official from the Myanmar Social Welfare Association (Hpa-An).
According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the water level of the Thanlwin River has exceeded the alarming water level of Hpa-An City by about 2 feet, and the river may rise by half a foot more than the current level the next day.
