Myanmar and Thailand discuss boosting trade and tourism through the Shan State route

Myanmar and Thailand have discussed using the Tachilek-Kengtung-Taunggyi-Meiktila-Mandalay Road via the Tachilek Friendship Bridge to enhance trade and tourism.

Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Thailand’s Ambassador, and U Zaw Lwin Oo, Chairperson of the Shan State government branch office (eastern Shan State), discussed accelerating trade and tourism in Kengtung, eastern Shan State, on 23 August.

Furthermore, the delegation led by the Thai ambassador and Shan State government officials inspected Kengtung Airport and the Kengtung-Taunggyi Road for trade flow and transport.
