Political parties must register with the Union Election Commission by stating their name. As of now, 17 groups have applied to form parties. According to the Political Parties Registration Law and Rule yesterday, the Unity and Development Party and the Socioeconomic Promotion Party were allowed to register parties.
Under Rule 7 of the Political Parties Registration Rule, Unity and Development Party and Socioeconomic Promotion Party, with the right to establish a party, must apply for registration as political parties within 30 days of approval. Until 26 August, 14 political parties have been approved for the establishment.
