Workers living near the banks of the Yangon River are advised to make preparations as the tide may rise above normal

The Myanmar Port Authority has issued a notice to workers living near the banks of the river to make preparations as there is likely to be an extraordinary tide in the Yangon River starting September 3rd.

2024, During the period from September 3rd to September 7th, the Yangon River is expected to have an extraordinary rise in tide from about 20.01 feet to about 20.18 feet above the basic water line. It is stated that this warning is issued in order for workers living near the riverside areas to make preparations when the estimated tidal height of the Yangon River may exceed 20 feet above the baseline water level.
