$9.489 million was sold at 3,400 kyat per dollar on August 15th, and $89.975 million was sold at 3,410 kyat per dollar on August 19th, after the Central Bank announced that it will provide $100 million for fuel oil companies, local media reported yesterday afternoon.
From the price of 6,350 kyats to one dollar in the morning yesterday, the price changed three times since yesterday afternoon, when it was announced that the dollar was being sold. This morning, one dollar dropped to 5900 kyats and dropped by 450 kyats in one day.
Since the beginning of August, the price of the dollar has risen to more than 6,400 kyats per dollar. In addition, on August 12, rumors of a coup d’état within the military were broadcast, causing the prices to rise by 800 kyats in one day, and on August 13th, the dollar rose to 7,200 kyats.
Yesterday, one dollar dropped to below 6,000 kyats, after SAC Information Team announced that the news was a rumor and that the heads of state were carrying out their duties as usual. After announcing that 100 million dollars would be sold, it fell again to 5,600 kyat per dollar.
At currently, the price of one dollar in the foreign market was 6,600 kyats on August 14, 6,500 kyats on August 15, it fell to 5,600 kyats in the early morning, then rose to 6,000 kyats in the afternoon on August 16, 6,300 kyats on August 17, 6,300 kyats on August 18, 6,350 kyats on August 19, from 6,350 kyats in the morning to 6,100 kyats in the evening on August 20 and on August 21 (today), 5,900 kyats occurred.
