Myanmar Embassy Singapore will renew passports of over 280 nationals on 12-16 August

10 August 2024

According to the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore, there are more than 280 approved nationals out of those registered to renew their passports with less than 14 months’ validity who can have renewal service from 12 to 16 August.

As a result of the WhatsApp application submissions, the embassy will provide the service to 57, 57, 57, 55 and 56 persons on 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 August, respectively.

By 10:00 a.m. on the appointment date, those seeking the service must bring their original passport and identification card, copies of their passport data page, copies of their identification card front and back, and completed renewal forms with a photo. If the person does not come on that date, a separate application will be required, the embassy said.

Fake documents or making submission through agents won’t be allowed for extension and the embassy warned that any private service companies or agents are not permitted to provide this service and make a waiting list for submitting documents to the embassy’s WhatsApp.

There can be two submissions per day on the embassy’s WhatsApp, however if more are made on subsequent days, they will be moved behind the waiting list. It will take a week for the embassy’s website to announce the list of applicants.

It is not necessary to request reservations on the embassy’s website or WhatsApp for Myanmar nationals in Singapore aged 65 years and older; the embassy will provide the passport extension as a privilege and they can come in person in the morning.
