As the Thai-Myanmar border gate is still closed, trucks are stuck in the border area and hundreds of trucks are still waiting for the Thai-Myanmar border gate to reopen. Traders said the trucks were stuck near the Payathonzu border gate near the town of Kyainseikgyi in Karen State.
Traders said the exact time the border gates between Thailand and Myanmar will reopen is not yet known. The trucks are on the Thai and Myanmar sides and are waiting for the border gate to open.
Although the Thai-Myanmar border gates were closed, local residents were forced to steal goods from other gates. However, reports are coming out that the border gate of Payathonzu, near the Kyainseikgyi on the Myanmar side, has been re-opened. It will be announced on June 23 that it will be opened or not in Payathonzu, said an official from the Payathonzu Regional Development Office.
