The closing ceremony of 2022 Mid-Year Myanma Gems Emporium was held at Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this evening.
As the price submissions of jade lots from No. 1501 to No. 2150, which were being put on sale in the emporium today, were opened and inspected by officials, a total of 519 jade lots were sold out.
In the 2022 Mid-Year Gems Emporium, 400 pearl lots were sold on 20 and 21 October; 362 pearl lots and 129 gem lots on 22 October; 44 gem lots and 2150 jade lots from 23 to 25 October; and 1836 jade lots were also sold out through an open tender system for 2960 local and foreign gem merchants.
It is reported that the local and foreign gem merchants will have to pay in USD, Euro, Yuan, Baht and Kyat currencies within 60 days according to the contract.
The sales of Myanma gems and jewelry at the gems exhibitions can generate the flow of currency for gems traders, achieving the raw materials for finished products of gems and jewelry entrepreneurs, and job opportunities for workers of gems industry.
