According to the statistics released by the Myanmar Rice and Rice Federation, the amount of exports in the first two months of the fiscal year has not even reached the amount to be exported in the first two months of the fiscal year.
Exports of $55 million from exports of 111,862 tons in April 2024-2025 and 71,279.15 tons in May With $36 million, only 183,141.141.5 tons of rice and rice were exported during the two-month fiscal year, and foreign revenue was only $91.16 million.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, 8 rice ships are docked to export 135,920 tons of rice this June, and 4 more ships will arrive to export 74,000 tons of rice.
In the last fiscal year 2023-2024, up to September, only tens of thousands of tons of rice and broken rice were exported abroad per month. At the end of the fiscal year, only more than 1.6 million tons were exported and the income was only more than 845 million dollars.
Therefore, with the cooperation of the national government and the private sectors, in the current fiscal year 2024-2025, we are aiming to increase the export of rice and broken rice to 2.5 million tons to earn foreign income of more than one billion dollars, U Ye Min Aung, Chairman of the Myanmar Rice Federation, told MT News. In this fiscal year, the export volume has been increased by more than 30 percent over the previous year.
