A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet attended the 90th General Assembly of INTERPOL held in New Delhi, India at the invitation of INTERPOL.
The opening ceremony of the assembly was held at 2 pm on 18 October and Indian Prime Minister H.E. Narendra Modi delivered an address at the event.
On the first-day session, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet separately met with CID Director Royal Malaysian Police Major General Kamarudin BINMP DIW and Secretary of INTERPOL Indonesian National Police Brigadier General Amur Chandra Juli Buana.
On the second-day session, he met with a delegation led by Russian Chief Prosecutor Mr. MOTORENKS MKAALL, and discussed the cooperation between two police forces and enhancement of the ability of Myanmar Police Force.
On the third-day session, he met with Inspector General of Bangladesh Police Mr. Chowdhury Abudullah Al MAMUN , a Chinese delegation led by Mr. Binchen HU, a member of Executive Committee of INTERPOL; and discussed anti-online gambling, drug eradication in border region between the two countries, collaboration with LMLECC for the security of Lancang-Mekong river basin.
On the fourth-day session, he met with Secretary General of INTERPOL Mr. Jurgen Stock, in-charge of Anti-Crime and member of Executive Committee of INTERPOL Mr. Stephen Kavanagh; and discussed cooperation in accordance with the INTERPOL’s procedures in conducting the anti-terrorism of Myanmar and legal actions to be taken for Myanmar terrorists who are hiding in foreign countries in accordance with the existing laws.
Afterwards, he also met informally with Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police H.E Police General Damrongsak Kittiprapas at the assembly; and a delegation led by Major General of the Royal Thai Police Khemmarin Hassiri at the meeting hall of Novotal Hotel near the Bangkok airport on 22 October.
The 90th General Assembly of INTERPOL was held from October 18 to 21 at National Centre in New Delhi, India. Of 195 member countries, officials of 170 member countries attended the event.
