According to rescuers, the rotting body of a monk was found in the Shan Chait Stream west of Shan Chait Village, Lashio Township, Shan State (Northern), at around 11:00 am on June 4th.The deceased was about 50 years old, a resident of Ward (4), and had been a priest for over a month, according to the Lashio Youth Social Assistance Group.
“The body has been there for four or five days. When I went to help the body, I found out that it was Monk. It smelled bad and was already rotting. It’s been four or five days since he died,” said a member of the Lashio Youth Social Assistance Group. Five members went to rescue the rotting dead body in the stream and sent it to the mortuary of Lashio Public Hospital, where it was accepted as PR-009.
