According to the statements of Asean-Autofed (Asean Automotive Federation), the ability to sell cars in Myanmar has improved more compared to last year.Myanmar was able to sell a total of 1,220 cars from percent compared to the same period in 2023.
From January 2023 to the end of April, Myanmar’s car sales were only 708 units, reffering to the ASEAN Automobile Manufacturers Association. In Myanmar, 286 cars in January 2024, 278 cars in February. 338 cars in March and in April 318 cars were sold, according to the group’s statement.
However, the number of car sales in Myanmar is much lower compared to other countries in the ASEAN region. Among the countries in the ASEAN region, from January to April 2024, Indonesia is at the top of the list of countries that can sell the most cars. In four months, 263,706 cars were sold, while Malaysia sold 260,236 cars and Philippines sold 146,920 cars.
In addition, in the first four months of 2024, Singapore was selling a total of 14,744 cars, Thailand, 210138 cars and Vietnam, 82,515 cars, according to Asean-Autofed group statements.
