A person close to the matter confirmed to MT News that the patron of the NLD party, Thura U Tin Oo, died this morning. “He died at 8:45 in the morning. At the moment, the matter of the burial is still unknown. He was not feeling well last night. Phlegm is rising,” said.
He received medical treatment at Yangon Public Hospital’s Cardiology Department and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit on May 30 due to his critical condition.
U Tin Oo served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces from March 1974 to March 1976. He was received the title of Zaya Kyaw Htin and the Thura medal, was 98 years old when he was died.
