According to local residents, a man was killed and three others were injured when PDFs detonated a mine at Bilin (Ma Saw Bridge) on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway this morning. The bridge is the “Ma Saw Bridge” located at the exit of Taung Kalay Village in Bilin Township. When the bridge was detonated, three motorcycles passing on the bridge fell under the bridge.
“Our team went there as we received a call at around 6 am. Three motorcycles fell under the bridge. Three were injured and one died. All were sent to Bilin Hospital. All are travelers. It was the youth who died. The bridge was mined. That bridge is the bridge on the main road between Yangon and Mawlamyine. It’s the main bridge,” an official from the Beilin Survival and Funeral Association told MT News.
“It should not be done on public roads. A lot of people trouble. Transportation is also a problem. I don’t like this kind of action,” said a Bilin resident.
