According to the head of Mawlamyine Railway Station, the new Yangon-Mawlamyine-Yangon Up and Down trains commenced operations on 13 May.
The regular Down train that departs from Yangon to Mawlamyine at 8:30 am, and the new Down train will also depart at 9:15 am. Similarly, the regular Up train leaves form Mawlamyine to Yangon at 6:15 am, and a new Up train will additionally run at 7:30 am. Tickets for the extended train journeys can be booked one day in advance. Regular train tickets can be purchased between 7 am and 12 pm and 1 pm and 3 pm.
Moreover, ordinary-class tickets can be booked one day in advance and upper-class tickets can be booked three days in advance.
