U Zaw Zaw, chairman of the Myanmar Football Federation, urged Myanmar referees not to be satisfied with the ASEAN level when referees from neighboring countries are serving in world-class competitions.
This was said during a meeting with more than 80 local referees for the development of refereeing and the emergence of qualified referees at the office of the Myanmar Football Federation yesterday, May 13.
In the discussion, U Zaw Zaw said that Myanmar referees should have the opportunity to serve in international competitions more than now, to learn more about the language, to further improve fitness levels, to produce good referees not only in football but also in futsal competitions, to build a referee academy, to train the new generation of referees systematically with a long-term plan.
When referees from neighboring countries are serving in world-class competitions, he urged Myanmar referees not to be satisfied with the ASEAN level. In addition, he said that support will be increased for referee equipment , courses, benefits.
