Ohnmadanti Beach in Maubin District of Ayeyawady Region attracted a total of 26,775 domestic visitors in April, according to U Soe Win, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Ayeyawady Region).
Omadanti Beach is mostly visited by day-trippers from the Yangon Region.
“Ohnmadanti Beach, located near Danuphyu and relatively little known, has attracted the most day-trippers from Yangon. In real, it’s not a beach but a sandbank in the Ayeyawady River. During the Thingyan period, 21,155 domestic travellers visited to it. A total of 16,775 domestic visitors were recorded in March. The number of visitors to the beach is steadily increasing each month,” explained U Soe Win.
The Ohnmadanti Princess built the pagoda on the beach and it was inaugurated in 2011.
