A new Bailey bridge will be rebuilt as soon as possible at the place of Kyoneik bridge on Yangon-Mawlamyine section of Pyidaungsu Road, Mon State,which was destroyed by mining, said Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein.
On May 12, U Aung Kyi Thein said this when he visited the damaged condition of Kyoneik bridge. He said that he ordered the relevant officials to make preparations as quickly as possible to facilitate transportation and the movement of goods for local people.
Due to the mining attacks, there are currently difficulties for both the public and vehicles of all sizes to pass through. Therefore, employees and officials of the relevant Highways/Bridges Department are continuing the process of repairing the damage as soon as possible while security forces continue to carry out the necessary counter-terrorism operations.
