In the extremely hot Yangon region, the first scattered heavy rain has fallen on many townships. The areas where the first scattered heavy rain hit included townships such as Insein and Bahan, as well as those in the Yangon Metro.
Forecasters from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology predict a low pressure area may develop over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent South Andaman Sea and it may intensify into a depression from 11 to 21 May.
