The Yangon-Mawlamyine up/down train left Yangon on 14 October, according to Myanma Railways (MR).
The No (89) airbag down train and No (90) airbag up train operated on Yangon-Mawlamyine route starting from 14 October.
MR has resumed its services which are suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and political instability in 2021. The airbag trains that ran on 14 October have 13 coaches; 7 coaches for ordinary class, five coaches for upper class and one brake van, and there were 349 ordinary class passenger and 155 upper class passenger.
The up/down trains will stop in 13 stations; Bago, Waw, Theinzayet, Kyaikkatha, Kyaikhto, Mayangone, Taungson, Hninpale, Theinseik, Thahton, Paung, Zinkyaik and Mawlamyine stations.
The train that left Yangon at 6.30 am will arrive in Mawlamyine at 4.45 pm and the train that left Mawlamyine at 9 am will arrive in Yangon at 7.15 pm.
The ticket prices of Yangon-Mawlamyine route are Ks-3550 for the ordinary class, Ks-7050 for the upper class; the ticket prices of Yangon-Kyaikhto route are Ks-2000 for the ordinary class, Ks-3950 for the upper class; and the ticket prices of Yangon-Thahton route are Ks-2800 for the ordinary class and Ks-5550 for the upper class. More trains will be operated depending on the number of passengers.
