According to Yangon Railways Station, Yangon circular trains will stop running during the Thingyan period. All train services around Yangon will be suspended from 13 April to 16 April. From 17 April, the end of the Thingyan period, the service will be operated as usual.
Due to the increase in the number of passengers riding the circular train, the Yangon circular train is currently running 26 times a day as usual. Currently, approximately 7,000 passengers use the Yangon circular train on a daily basis.
The upgrading process for the Yangon circular train is currently underway. Upon completion of this process, the circular train will be capable of transporting approximately 240,000 passengers, it is reported.
