Pagodas and Yadanabon Garden in Mandalay were alive with people who came from four corners on the evening of full moon day of Thadingyut( 9 October).
A festival vendor said: “Pagodas and places are teeming with people who are celebrating Thadingyut festival till the evening from the early morning of the full moon day of Thadingyut. Today is enjoyable and auspicious day for Myanmar people. People do not go back home even though it is raining in the afternoon. I feel tired but not exhausted because most of my goods are almost sold out today.”
Yadanabon Garden hosted serving the refreshments for people who came from four corners, performance of Yaing dance, Kyaukse Dancing Elephants entertainment, performance of Myanmar traditional cane ball dance and launching the colorful hot-air balloons according to the agendas and people were joyfully celebrating the Thadingyut Lighting Festival.
Similarly, the devotees presented flowers, water, oil lights to pagodas, made merits, recited sermons, and launched hot-air balloons at the pagodas.
Kuthodaw Pagoda hosts Myoma music band entertainment with performing Anyeint, dancing and singing with songs.
