According to residents, the number of tourists visiting Zweba Beach and Thantal Beach in Kyauktan Township, Yangon Region, has been increasing since last February.
“In the beginning, not many people came. Later, the number of tourists gradually increased. Most of the people came from Yangon. After going to Pilakat Temple, they came to the beach. Especially on weekends, there are more people,” said a vendor on the beach.
Thantal Beach is a twenty-minute drive from Zweba Village, and the highlight of the beach is a large pillar on the beach.
“Some of them can’t travel long distances, so they come to this beach in large numbers. They arrange small travel packages. On weekends, the order is full,” said a local tourist operator.
