On February 2nd, the central bank pumped 5 million dollars and 50 million Thai baht through the Online Trading Platform for exporters/ importers. O7 million Chinese yuan and 12 million Thai baht on march 5, totalling 5 million dollars, 7 million Chinese yuan and 62 million Thai baht within 2 month.
In addition, the foreign exchange market, which is not an online trading platform, issued and sold dollars 15 times from January 1 to March 4 , totalling 149.31 million dollars during those 15 times, and sold 1,300 million Thai baht in a month and a half from January 19 to March 4.
Similarly, on January 1st, the central bank issued and sold a SWAP facility equivalent to $ 4 million US dollars in Chinese yuan.
Not to the foreign exchange market, but separately to the consumer goods and pharmaceutical sector. electricity sector and agricultural and telecommunications sector for importers sold $1.4 million , 4.2 million Chinese yuan and 13.5 million Thai baht, as well as selling the dollars needed for companies that import fuel twice, 22.15 million dollars.
The US dollar price fell back to Kyat 3,500 per US dollar at the beginning of February due to the continuous selling of US dollars to the market. Still, it rose again to more than Kyat 3,500 in the second week of February. The central bank issued and sold US dollars again, but on February 22, it started to reach 3,600 per US dollar and has continued until today up to 3,610 kyat per US dollar.
