The work programs of the government and private sector for the development rice sector were identified in Myanmar Rice Conference-2022.
During the two days long conference, from the discussions as per the sector, the assessments on growing the pedigree seeds which are appropriate with the regions of the regions and states and preferred by the market, enabling to purchase the fertilizers in affordable price, upgrading rice mills to be able to export the rice met the quality, reassessment of national export strategy compatible to the changing export market, cooperation with the government departments in sending the representatives to abroad for the export promotion could be identified.
At the panel discussions, regarding with the development of rice production, the papers on rice growing and producing seeds and the papers on rice purchasing, storing, milling and adding values were read by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
The round table discussions, Myanmar Rice Federation, organizations, companies and farmers who are practically engaging the growing the rice discussed the status of current implementation, the difficulties encountered and the points needed to be provided assistance by the government.
The Myanmar Rice Conference-2022 held for two days from 6 to 7 October was attended by the representatives from the ministries, Myanmar Rice Federation and brother associations and farmers altogether about 400 individuals.
