According to the board of trustees, the Shwedagon Pagoda will celebrate its 2,612th anniversary with the Buddha Pujaniya Festival between 15 and 24 March 2024.
The board of trustees will hold ceremonies during the festival to worship the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha. It will include chanting Pali scriptures (Pathtana) and offering alms rice to more than 100 monks.
