The global price of gold jumped up to about 2130 US Dollars per ounce, so the domestic gold price also rose to 4,000,000 kyats per Kyattha (16.3293 g) of A-Khout Shway (purity of about 99.9 per cent gold) today, and it is reported that the price changes are fast.
U Myo Myint, chairman of Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association, said that the significant increase in the domestic gold price these days is only due to the continuous rise in the world gold price. It remains to be seen whether the domestic gold price, which rose when the world gold price rose, will fall again when the world gold price falls.
