According to Data for Myanmar, 61 townships have declared martial law in Myanmar. In 2021, 8 townships declared martial law, and in 2023, there were 48 townships, Since Tatmadaw assumed the State duties on February 1, 2021.

They are 7 townships in Yangon Region, 8 townships in Chin State, 14 townships in Sagaing Region, 5 townships in Bago Region, 5 townships in Magwe Region, 4 townships in Kayah State, 1 township in Mon State, 2 townships in Kayin State, 2 townships in Taninthari Region and 13 townships in Shan State.

According to the 2014 census, the population living in the townships that have been declared under martial law is over 8.2 million.
