In 2023, Myanmar ranked 7th in the list of Southeast Asian countries that spent the most on defense, according to the Lowy Institute.
When the group released the Asia Power Index 2023 index, Myanmar was in the list of countries spending the most on defense in ASEAN, Singapore, Indonesia Thailand Vietnam Malaysia It is reported that the Philippines stood behind.
It is reported that Laos is at the bottom of the Southeast Asian countries spending the least on defense , and Myanmar has been able to spend more on defense than Laos, Cambodia and Brunei.
