The false news occurred according to the report on the website of Dhaka Tribune which is the Bangladeshi media. It is also reported that some Bangladeshi media outlets are quoting the writings of some illegal Burmese media and quoting RFA’s baseless news.
“We will not force non Myanmar citizens to provide military service,” said Maj-General Zaw Min Tun, the spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC).
“It is false news because Bangalis are not citizens of Myanmar. Currently, the military service law has to be formed only leadership team for the region and state. For the district and township, we will have to form many groups. Therefore the news of conscription is only the fabricated news.” said U Hla Thein, the spokesperson of the Rakhine State Government. There are also rumors that the village people are being mobilized for military service.
