The Northern Shan Ethnic Affairs Association (S.E.A.S) issued a statement calling for the quick release of the secretary of the Shanni Literature and Traditional Culture Association, who was arrested by the KIA and PDF on February 28. It condemned the arrest of such an honest and quiet person.
U Khin Maung Kyi, a member of Shanni literature and traditional culture living in Tama Khan village, Pharkant Township, Monywa District, Kachin State was abducted by the KIA and PDF armed group at Nam Nang Hlaing Shan IDP camp in the west of the Uyu River at around 1:00 p.m. on February 28, 2024.
The Myanmar Northern Shan Ethnic Affairs Association (S.E.A.S) strongly condemns the abduction of such an innocent indigenous Shanni ethnic U Khin Maung Kyi by the KIA and PDF. The request was made on behalf of relatives and friends, according to a statement from the Northern Shan Ethnic Affairs Association (S.E.A.S).
