On Wednesday, the State Administration Council issued Martial Law Order Nos.1/2024 and 2/2024, which were signed by the Secretary of the State Administration Council.
The order described that the SAC has entrusted Martial Law power related to administration and judicial measures to the Commander of Northern Command under Section 419 of the Constitution to exercise more effective undertakings for ensuring security, the rule of law and local peace and tranquility in Moe Mate and Mabein Townships in Shan State.
According to the changing circumstances, the military command commander can exercise Martial Law power as well as transfer it to military region commanders.
